In CSMS 44279127, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the postponement of the APHIS Core message set in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) until January 25, 2021.
Originally, the implementation was set for August 3, 2020. The decision to delay implementation was made by the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) over stakeholder concerns relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.
CBP shared in its message, “Although filing the APHIS Core Message Set is not required at this time, APHIS strongly recommends that stakeholders begin using it before the January 25, 2021 deadline.”
Six informational webinars are available on APHIS’s website regarding commodities regulated by APHIS and required to submit the APHIS Core message set. For additional information, please contact Deringer’s Compliance Department.
