Starting January 6, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), in collaboration with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), will adjust hours at 38 ports of entry (POEs) across the entire U.S. northern border. These changes aim to enhance security and facilitate trade and travel. CBP officers will be reassigned to busier POEs, optimizing resources for national security.
Key changes, include:
• Formalizing current hours at 13 POEs
• Expanding hours at 8 POEs
• Reducing hours at a few POEs, with alternative crossings nearby
Most of the 118 northern border POEs will maintain existing hours, including many with 24/7 operations; however, some locations have adjusted schedules. Shippers and carriers may review and make note of all proposed changes here.
