Earlier in March, the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) announced a suspension of Section 301 tariffs relating to the US-European Union large civil aircraft dispute (see Deringer trade alert dated March 8). The aircraft tariffs suspension is in place for a period of four months and began at 12:01 AM on March 11, 2021.
According to the March 16, 2021-Federal Register Notice that included the effective date, “This will allow the EU and the US to ease the burden on their industries and workers and focus efforts towards resolving these long-running disputes at the WTO.”
Deringer will continue to provide information regarding the aircraft dispute. If you have questions regarding your shipments, please contact your Deringer service center.
