The increased Section 301 tariffs for List 4 were published in the Federal Register today. The US Trade Representative (USTR) has increased the additional duty from 10% to 15% on Tranche (list) 4 goods. Effective September 1, 2019, goods on List 4A will be subject to the 15% duty, and List 4B will incur the duty beginning December 15th.
The USTR is also taking comment on the proposed duty increase for Lists 1, 2, and 3 of the Section 301 tariffs. Duties for the goods found on these lists are slated to rise from 25% to 30%, on October 1st, but comments will be accepted until September 20th. This notice was published in the Federal Register on September 3rd.
This action is in response to Chinese tariffs on 5,000 products exported from the US. For additional information on Section 301, please visit the USTR web pages or contact Deringer’s Compliance Department.
